Colombia Hulia region is known for producing some of the best coffees in Colombia. Coming from a variety of small farms throughout the region, this coffee is grown under the canopy of the rainforest. Farmers and their families have access to housing and healthcare and their children have access to schools close by. Additionally, wildlife is protected through enforcing strict no-hunting rules on farms. The result is delicious coffee that helps promote sustainability at the farm level. This coffee was grown at high altitudes of 1,400 to 1,750 meters. The plant varietals of Caturra, Colombia-Castillo flourish in rich volcanic soil with high levels of organic matter. Processing was the washed process, it is 80% sundried and 20% mechanical drying (due to rainfall). 1) ROASTING COFFEE to perfection is truly an art, a distinct set of skills developed over time with experience. The most basic description of the roasting process would be that the beans need to be heated to around 400*F in about 7-12 minutes and then cooled quickly. As heat is applied the beans will change in color from green to yellow, to ever darkening shades of brown, once the roast level desired is achieved beans are cooled quickly. 2) ABOUT US – We are award-winning family operated coffee supplier.
